Through our ongoing partnership with Winnipeg Harvest, our volunteers are dedicated to upholding the fundamental human right to food security within our community.
By sourcing and distributing essential food items, we aim to alleviate the burden of food insecurity faced by vulnerable individuals and families. Our efforts extend beyond mere provision to include advocacy for the recognition and fulfillment of the right to an adequate standard of living for all.
Our primary demographic comprises low-income immigrants and refugee women who often confront systemic barriers hindering their access to nutritious food and other necessities. These individuals grapple with multiple challenges such as limited job opportunities, mental health issues, and housing instability, relying on social assistance and food banks due to systemic inequalities.
In response, our organization remains steadfast in promoting food security as a human right.
Beyond emergency supplies, we advocate for systemic reforms addressing the root causes of food insecurity and socioeconomic disparities. Through partnerships, advocacy, and grassroots efforts, we envision inclusive communities where every individual can access nutritious food and live with dignity.
