The Excel Empowerment Centre Inc. (TEEC) is a community hub dedicated to empowering women, girls and children, particularly those affected by war and displacement. Through education, encouragement and wrap-around support, TEEC helps participants build confidence, strengthen their independence, pursue meaningful employment and achieve overall wellness

TEEC is seeking an engaging, compassionate and skilled English as an Additional Language (EAL) Teacher to support adult learners from immigrant and refugee communities. The successful candidate will create practical, learner-centred English classes that strengthen communication, confidence and independence in everyday life, education, employment and community participation

Desired Certifications:

• Post-secondary education in Education, English, Adult Education, Applied Linguistics or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience teaching English as an Additional Language, English language learners, adult literacy or a closely related program.
• Knowledge of second-language acquisition, adult learning principles and learner-centred instructional practices.
