Who we are

The Excel Empowerment Centre is a peacebuilding organization dedicated to promoting peace, reconciliation, and inclusivity in the community. Our mission is to provide dignified access to basic necessities. The Excel project focuses on individuals with strong family networks who are committed to its success. We also strive to develop local leadership capacity and empower women, girls, and children economically in Canada and Bor Jonglei State, South Sudan.

In Canada, the Excel Empowerment Centre is headquartered at 580 Victor Street in Winnipeg's downtown/West End neighborhood as of 2018. The Centre serves as a community center for skills training and education. As of 2021, the organization is a registered charity in Canada.

The Centre's goals in Canada include operating a drop-in centre for newcomer immigrants and refugees, providing a safe space for individuals to express their feelings without fear of repercussions, providing healing and social support, increasing computer literacy, offering sewing classes to gain marketable skills, and providing a space for recreational and cultural activities to promote and enhance emotional and mental wellness. Additionally, TEEC plans to provide basic English classes to improve communication skills, as well as opportunities for leadership development, small business training, and language training.

The Centre offers wellness workshops, fundraisers, peace days, family camping, field trips, traditional dancing, conflict training, trauma healing circles, life skills training, and youth leadership development. If you are interested in registering for any of these programs, please contact TEEC.
