(TEEC) is committed to empowering women, children, and youth through various supportive programs. TEEC assists war-affected newcomers, immigrants, and refugees in the inner City of Winnipeg and surrounding areas, focusing on women, youth and children, and helping them develop the skills and confidence they need for successful integration. TEEC’s Drop-In Centre offers a safe, non-judgmental space for expression, healing, social support, and access to crucial information and services. TEEC also provides foundation English, computer literacy workshops, and beginner sewing classes, and promotes emotional and mental wellness through recreational and cultural activities such as beading, dancing, cooking, storytelling, and arts and crafts.
Through these initiatives, TEEC aims to equip women with essential skills and knowledge, fostering self-reliance and community resilience. By addressing a range of needs—from education to health and economic empowerment—TEEC plays a crucial role in improving the quality of life and promoting integration for vulnerable populations in both Canada and South Sudan.
